New Swimmer Evaluations
For young kids who would like to join a swim team, but are not sure if they are ready. The purpose of the session is to avoid the frustration and disappointment unqualified new swimmers and their parents feel when they arrive that first day of practice with new suits and goggles and high hopes only to find that they aren't ready to swim for a team.

BSA Swim Lessons
BSA offers a progressive Group Swimming Lesson program — a program influenced by professional swim coaches across America that also incorporates foundations of the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim system — that focuses on teaching efficiency in the four competitive swimming strokes.  The lesson format is designed to allow swimmers to progress at their own rate.

Young children begin the lesson program at Level 1. In Level 1, swimmers are introduced to water in a comfortable environment where they are taught the basics of air exchange and water comfort.   Level 1 swim lessons are offered as a private lesson only.  Levels 2 through 6 are taught as Group lessons.  Level 6 students may enter our Stroke Clinics if the goal is to compete for a swim team.  For a complete explanation of each Level, contact Tiffany Forbes at 303-994-5111.

All Group lessons are taught in Carlson Gym pool (water temp about 84 degrees) on the CU Campus by Tiffany Forbes and her staff.  Group lessons run for 30-minutes, and are  offered on Sundays and/or Wednesdays. Private lessons can be set up separately with Tiffany, Caitlin, Tessie, or any of our other fine instructors.

Swimming classes are taught by Tiffany Forbes. Classes with more than 5 students will have a second instructor in the water to assist. Only Levels 2 – 5 will be offered as group lessons. Each 30-minute class will focus on one level.

Technique-Enhancing Stroke Clinics
The goal of the stroke clinics is to teach technical perfection in stroke execution. We primarily work to improve the swimmer’s ability to execute the strokes as efficiently as possible. We address the four competitive strokes swum in USA-Swimming and the BVSSL. Any swimmer who is beyond Level 6 in the SwimBSA group lessons (or in a Swim America program) is eligible to participate in these clinics.

Each month includes one week of freestyle technique; a week of backstroke technique; a week of breaststroke and butterfly techniques together; and a week of starts and turns.  In 3-week sessions, backstroke and freestyle skills are combined.

One-on-One Private Instruction
One student per instructor allows for lessons that are fully customized for the individual swimmer's needs and abilities – from beginners learning the basics to elite swimmers looking to fine-tune their technique. Class length can be customized as well, based on swimmers’ goals, age or time availability.

Fees: $1 per minute (generally lessons are not longer than 60 minutes)
